Color Branding

Branding. It is such an integral part of Graphic Design; but many people don’t realize that they see color before they absorb anything else. And many people, some designers as well, don’t realize that they can brand colors. Colors are associated with different companies, and those colors are branded. Examples include McDonald’s, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ford Motor Company…and those are only a few of the big name brands. And with everyone of those companies a certain color popped right into your mind, didn’t it? McDonald’s yellow and red. Home Depot orange. Lowe’s and Ford, they both “own” a shade of blue, but not the same blue.
